World MS Day & the CMSC

What a week! We honored Memorial Day, celebrated World MS Day and traveled to Indianapolis to exhibit at the annual meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers!

World MS Day is a yearly event that brings the global Multiple Sclerosis community together to raise awareness, share stories and offer support for one another. As we work closely with many MS non-profits and individuals with MS, we are proud to help spread the word about World MS Day. We believe that everyone is #StrongerThanMS!

Polar Products attends the annual meeting of the CMSC every year. It's a great opportunity to meet with neurologists, MSRNs, MS non-profit organizations and many other key professionals in the MS community. We love making new connections as well as seeing old friends!

At the Polar Products booth, Bill and Rose have been sharing how body cooling can greatly benefit those dealing with MS heat sensitivity and demonstrating the benefits of our five different cooling technologies.

In honor of World MS Day, Polar Products is hosting a cooling vest giveaway!

One lucky winner will receive a Kool Max® Men's Fashion Vest or Kool Max® Women's Fashion Vest, while five other winners will receive an MS Awareness Fashion Cooling Scarf.

The contest is open until Monday, June 1st. No purchase necessary.

AAN 2015 Part Two: Stop By & Say Hello!

Not only does Polar Products offer an extensive line of products to help cool the body, but we also offer cold and hot therapy wraps to alleviate the pain of headaches and migraines. Today is the first day of the American Academy of Neurology's annual meeting. We'll be here until Thursday discussing how our hot and cold therapy products can help with migraines and headaches.

Cold and heat therapy can safely and effectively complement the pain relief methods prescribed by your healthcare professional.

Follow our banner! Polar Products is at Booth 1538 #AANAM

Polar Products offers many different hot and cold therapy options for managing migraines:

Circulating Water Head Cap

Our Active Ice® Hot/Cold Head Cap provides constant heat or cold therapy to the head by continuously circulating water from the cooler through the head cap, which has a snug, comfortable fit.

The Active Ice® Head Cap from Polar Products.

Here's what one customer has to say about our

Active Ice® Head Cap:

"There is no doubt that the headache cap helps in the management of migraines/headaches. On a couple of occasions I was able to abort the headache by wearing the cap. Yesterday, I had a bad headache, so I took my prescription drugs in mid afternoon, knowing that I would have to follow it up with more stronger prescription drugs in the evening. Instead I wore the cap for an extended period while I watched television. I was able to almost completely annihilate the headache and did not take a second dose of prescription drugs - a definite success."
- Marc, from Phoenix, AZ

Cold/Hot Packs and Compression Wraps

Our reusable Soft Ice® Cold/Hot Packs are held securely in place by wraps to deliver cold or heat therapy to the affected area. The packs are made with a patented, non-toxic, all-natural formula that stays soft and flexible even when frozen!

Microwaveable Moist Heat Wraps

Polar's professional-quality Thera-Temp® moist heat therapy wraps offer deep-penetrating moist heat to targeted areas! Our therapeutic mineral beads collect and hold moisture from humidity in the air, and they never decay or develop an odor.

Our Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Cervical Wrap can also be worn around the head.

The Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Eye & Sinus Wrap from Polar Products.

Migraine and Headache Relief Kits

Our targeted kits provide the therapeutic benefits of both cold compression and moist heat therapy. Save 15% when you purchase a therapy kit! For Polar Products' specific migraine and headache relief kits, please click here to choose the best kit for you!

After visiting MSAA in New Jersey last week, Bill is traveling again this week - this time to sunny Florida! While we're sure he will get much accomplished while meeting with the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation (MSF) in Fort Lauderdale, we feel a little jealous here at the office - it's only 7° today here in Ohio!

Polar Products is proud to supply two high-quality kit options for the MSF Cooling Program:

1) The first option is the Polar Cool Comfort® Evaporative Kit. That kit includes a full vest, hat, necktie and wristbands that come in a blue or tan color.

“We bought the CoolFit® Kit as a gift for my sister-in-law. She calls us every day to tell us how much she loves it and how many new ways she has found to use all the pieces. This was the best gift ever for someone with MS who lives in a hot, hot climate!”
- Greg in CA

“I am writing to thank you, with all my heart, for the wonderful Kool Max Vest, ice packs, and other cooling items I received from you just a week or so ago. I never could have afforded such items, and I really do know now that I can become more active now with this heat resistance equipment."

Fraa-jeel-aay! Must be Italian!

Happy New Year! We hope you celebrated a very jolly holiday season! Here are some Polar highlights from December...

Our friend Pete from MSAA visited us and took great delight in touring the Christmas Story House in Cleveland.

"You'll shoot your eye out, kid!"

No visit to Polar is complete without a Browns game!

Go Browns!

We sent Pete home with a "Major Award" of his own!
Here is it proudly displayed in his office...
Merry Christmas, Pete!

Holiday Soft Ice® Hot/Cold Therapy Packs were included with every order!

Good to know that we're on the "nice" list...
check out this e-mail we got from Santa!

"The Kool Max® Poncho Vest works great for 4 hours to keep me cool in my Santa suit. The Kool Max® Packs refreeze quickly. I work with three sets so that there is one set in the freezer at all times. I keep one set in a small ice chest and a set in my vest. They are GREAT!!!"
- Santa in Bellevue, NE

Our friend Terry stopped by for a visit and at first we didn't even notice he was wearing our men's fashion cooling vest! Although it's chilly outside this time of year in Ohio, he recently suffered a back injury and the cold packs along the spine are therapeutic.

A customer recently sent us this message from Africa:
"Staying cool on Rufigi River in Tanzania. Thank you. David"

We're here to keep you cool wherever your adventures take you in 2015! Cheers to a healthy, happy year for you all!

Visits to MSF and MSAA

Bill and Pete at an MSAA Fundraiser in Yellowstone.

My thanks to the fine folks at the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. I recently had the opportunity to visit both organizations, have lunch together and give a very informal “in-service” on MS and body cooling. I always learn from these visits and come away with new product ideas. Most of all I am always impressed with the dedication, skill, service and heart that the people who work at non-profits provide.

Thank you to all who have dedicated themselves to such good work.

Warm Regards,
Bill

Colds, Flu and Sinusitis - oh my!

We hope you all have managed to stay well during this cold and flu season! Many of us at Polar have been stricken with a nasty cold this month. For some of us, that has resulted in ear infections or sinus infections, with tremendous pressure and headaches. Fortunately, we are all well stocked in moist heat wraps, which can sometimes help ease the pain temporarily.

Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Sinus Wrap

Some doctors recommend using moist heat therapy for drug-free pain relief to help relieve pressure in nasal passages and sinus cavities. It also relaxes the facial muscles, alleviating the pain associated with stress, tension headaches and TMJ.

Here's how some of our colleagues have put our Thera-Temp® Microwaveable Moist Heat Wraps to good use these past few weeks... so they can feel better and get back to work! :)

"I happened to have my favorite moist heat wrap handy: the Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Cervical Wrap. Its long, narrow shape wrapped around my forehead and helped ease my sinus headache. I also used it around my neck (its intended use, which always feels great!), around my jaw and in front of my ear (I had an ear infection - ouch!), which really helped me relax enough to rest."
- Erin, Marketing Manager

Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Cervical Wrap

"I never get headaches. But when I got a sharp headache above my eyebrow the other day, I knew it was my sinuses. I went back to our shop and got a Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Sinus Wrap. The strap held it securely on my head and I wore it above my eyes to I could see. The moist heat therapy really helped relieve my sinus pressure so I could make it through the workday."
- Maureen, Office Manager

Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Sinus Wrap

"It felt like a bomb exploded in my head... so much pressure! I used a small, universal Thera-Temp® Target Wrap right on my forehead. The moist heat was a great addition to my medication and of course... plenty of sleep."
- Jacob, VP

Thera-Temp® Target Wrap

It's great to have Thera-Temp® Microwaveable Moist Heat Wraps on hand... you never know when you might need it! Take care and be well, everyone. Call us if you need to place an order at 1-800-763-8423.

PS - an ear infection didn't stop this little guy from having a very happy first birthday. Happy Birthday, Ben! Here he is at his birthday party with his Pop Pop:

Staying Warm During the Polar Vortex

Many of us experienced the chilling arctic air known as the 'Polar Vortex' when much of the country plunged into sub-zero temperatures this week.

How are you staying warm when you have to brave the outdoors?
