According to numerous studies, it can be helpful to apply both cold and moist heat therapy to manage migraines and headaches.

Cold therapy constricts blood vessels and calms inflammation. This can reduce the pressure in your head, which may ease the pain. Cold compresses also have a natural numbing effect.

Moist heat therapy will relax muscles. If there is tension in the jaw, neck or shoulders, applying heat relaxes tight muscles and may ease the pain. Heat can relax the entire body to help you manage stress.

Combines the therapeutic benefits of massage and cold or hot therapy in an effective tool with a stainless steel massage ball or bullet.

Colds, Flu and Sinusitis - oh my!

We hope you all have managed to stay well during this cold and flu season! Many of us at Polar have been stricken with a nasty cold this month. For some of us, that has resulted in ear infections or sinus infections, with tremendous pressure and headaches. Fortunately, we are all well stocked in moist heat wraps, which can sometimes help ease the pain temporarily.

Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Sinus Wrap

Some doctors recommend using moist heat therapy for drug-free pain relief to help relieve pressure in nasal passages and sinus cavities. It also relaxes the facial muscles, alleviating the pain associated with stress, tension headaches and TMJ.

Here's how some of our colleagues have put our Thera-Temp® Microwaveable Moist Heat Wraps to good use these past few weeks... so they can feel better and get back to work! :)

"I happened to have my favorite moist heat wrap handy: the Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Cervical Wrap. Its long, narrow shape wrapped around my forehead and helped ease my sinus headache. I also used it around my neck (its intended use, which always feels great!), around my jaw and in front of my ear (I had an ear infection - ouch!), which really helped me relax enough to rest."

"I never get headaches. But when I got a sharp headache above my eyebrow the other day, I knew it was my sinuses. I went back to our shop and got a Thera-Temp® Moist Heat Sinus Wrap. The strap held it securely on my head and I wore it above my eyes to I could see. The moist heat therapy really helped relieve my sinus pressure so I could make it through the workday."

"It felt like a bomb exploded in my head... so much pressure! I used a small, universal Thera-Temp® Target Wrap right on my forehead. The moist heat was a great addition to my medication and of course... plenty of sleep."
